Not all silk is created equal. Our commitment to excellence begins with the material itself.

Sustainability and Certification

We place sustainability at the center of our sourcing, choosing each fabric with close attention and care. Recognized third-party standards guide how our materials are produced, supporting ethical practice and the welfare of the animals involved. That framework offers confidence that the silk you wear has been sourced responsibly.

Environmental responsibility and product quality are not separate goals for us. We want each piece to earn its place in a wardrobe while placing less demand on the planet. We choose fabrics and design each piece with long-term use in mind. Care matters too: proper care can help keep silk in good condition for longer. Thoughtful design and everyday care share a common aim—to keep each piece in use for longer and reduce unnecessary replacement.

Why 22 Momme

Momme, pronounced “mom-ee,” is the traditional measure of silk fabric by weight.

Momme (Weight) Ranges For Different Types of Silk Weaves

Silk charmeuse is a type of silk weave. Momme weight helps shape its character, from light and airy to fuller-bodied with a fluid drape. It can also affect how sheer the fabric looks and how well it holds up to wear.

Silk Charmeuse

Smooth and fluid, with a soft pearl luster on the face and a matte reverse.

Feel
Light, soft, and closer to a barely-there feel.
Soft, with more substance and a richer feel.
Drape
Light and airy, with a fluid drape that moves with the body.
A smoother drape with more weight and a cleaner fall.
Coverage
Pale colors may appear more sheer.
Greater coverage with less sheerness.
Wrinkles
Creases more readily and can look rumpled sooner.
Added weight helps the fabric hang more smoothly and resist light creasing.
Snags
A pull can distort the lighter fabric more easily.
Still delicate, but less easily distorted by minor pulls.
Durability
More vulnerable to tearing through frequent wear and handling.
Greater resistance to tearing and repeated handling.

We chose 22 momme for its rich, luxurious feel and graceful drape—a balance of softness, substance, and durability for everyday wear.

Machine Washable Silk

The care routine changes.
The fiber stays the same.

Silxine machine-washable silk begins with 100% Grade 6A Mulberry silk, then receives a controlled finish developed for gentle machine care. Unlike untreated silk that commonly relies on hand washing or dry cleaning, it is made to better withstand repeated machine movement while retaining its rich sheen and exceptionally soft hand. The result is silk that stays easier to care for, wear after wear.

Evidence · 01

Color holds. Luster lasts.

After 30 machine-wash cycles, the wash-resistant silk retains richer color and a more consistent sheen than untreated silk washed under the same program.

Evidence · 02

Fewer wrinkles. Less distortion.

Compared under the same 30-cycle wash program, the treated silk remains visibly smoother and more stable than untreated silk. Its structure holds more evenly, helping reduce creasing and changes in shape.

Benefits of machine-washable silk

A lighter care routine, supported by repeated-wash testing.

01

Simpler care

Silk care becomes one straightforward routine. When the garment label says Machine Washable, place the piece in a laundry bag and choose a cold, gentle cycle. The controlled finish helps the fabric retain its pearl luster and fluid hand through machine movement.

02

Keeps what makes it silk

Under the same 30-cycle wash program, the treated sample retained richer color, a more consistent luster and a smoother shape than untreated silk. Easier care does not have to mean giving up the qualities that made you choose silk.

03

More time, less upkeep

Silk no longer needs to sit outside everyday rotation because its care feels demanding. With fewer specialist-care steps, it fits more naturally around work, family, travel and ordinary weeks.
